Why buy from Robot Store

Buy used FANUC robots in the UK

FANUC robots are industrial robotic arms produced by FANUC Corporation in Japan, a leading manufacturer of industrial robots and CNC systems. These robots, frequently used in automotive manufacturing, machining workshops, and warehouses, have been operational since 1974. Known for their reliability and ease of programming, FANUC robots are an excellent choice for automation.

Robot Store offers used/refurbished FANUC robots across the UK and worldwide, including models like the LR Mate 200iD and M-900iA, each supplied with a controller, starting at £7,000 excluding VAT.

Our refurbished FANUC inventory changes week to week, and new stock is not always online straight away. Our technicians inspect, test and recondition each robot before it leaves us. You can buy the robot and controller on their own, add tooling, or order a complete robot cell.

Looking for a specific reconditioned model, such as an M-10iA, M-20iB or R-1000iA? Email us the model, payload and reach. We source used FANUC robots regularly and can usually suggest a close alternative from stock.

What affects the price of a FANUC robot?

Payload and reach

Bigger, longer-reach robots cost more. An LR Mate costs less than an R-2000iB, and long-arm versions such as the R-2000iA/125L or M-710iC/20L cost more than standard ones.

Controller generation

Newer controllers cost more. An R-2000iA on R-J3iB is £10,000 and an R-2000iC on R-30iB £15,000, but the R-30iB adds the touch iPendant, DCS safety and current software.

Software options and condition

ArcTool, SpotTool, PalletTool, iRVision or DCS options add value. A fully reconditioned robot with new batteries, fresh grease and worn parts replaced costs more than an as-is robot, but carries far less risk.

Tooling and integration

The robot is only part of the cost. Grippers, weld packages, guarding and programming add to the total project price.

Refurbished robots

Why buy used FANUC robots?

A used robot is one of the most cost-effective ways to automate. You get a proven industrial robot arm for a fraction of the new price, usually from stock rather than after a long factory lead time.

  • Less than new. Lower capital cost for SMEs, start-ups and expansion projects.
  • Proven reliability. FANUC robots are famous for uptime and run 24/7 in car plants, machine shops and warehouses.
  • Fast delivery. In UK stock, without the long lead times of new robots.
  • Spare parts support. Servo amplifiers, pulsecoders, motors, cables and teach pendants from our FANUC spares stock.
  • Offline programming. Cells can be designed and simulated in FANUC ROBOGUIDE before the robot arrives.
  • Sustainable. Reusing a robot cuts waste and embodied carbon.

FAQs

FANUC robots: frequently asked questions

A used FANUC robot with controller costs from £7,000 ex VAT at Robot Store (an M-6iB on R-J3iB or R-J3iC). Most popular models cost £10,000 to £16,000: for example an R-2000iA £10,000, R-2000iB £12,000, M-710iC £14,000, R-2000iC £15,000 and M-900iA £16,000. A new one typically costs £20,000 (LR Mate 200iD) to £130,000 (M-900iB), and a complete robot cell costs more. See the price table.

Usually up to 80% less. For example, a used FANUC R-2000iC/210F with R-30iB controller costs £15,000 from our stock, while a new R-2000iC typically costs £55,000 to £85,000.

Yes, when they are refurbished properly. FANUC robots are known for long service lives and high uptime in 24/7 car plants and machine shops. A reconditioned robot is inspected, repaired and tested, with worn parts replaced, before it is shipped. Reliability depends on the quality of the refurbishment and the previous use, so buy from a supplier that tests every robot.

Yes. Our finder lists used and refurbished stock, and we source new FANUC robots, such as the R-2000iD, M-20iD, M-10iD, LR Mate and CRX cobots, to order. Tell us the model and we’ll quote price and lead time.

Yes. Our robots are sold with their controller, an R-30iB, R-30iA, R-J3iC or R-J3iB (or a Mate or Mini Plus cabinet for LR Mate and CRX robots), and each finder listing shows which one. The teach pendant, cables and software included are confirmed on your quote.

The R-30iB is the newer controller, launched in 2012. It adds the touch-screen iPendant, faster processing, lower energy use, DCS safety as standard and newer software and fieldbuses. The R-30iA (2007) is still widely used and supports iRVision and DCS as options. R-30iA robots usually cost less. See FANUC controllers.

The R-J3iB is the older controller (from about 2001). The R-J3iC is the name FANUC Europe used for the first R-30iA controllers, so it is a newer platform with the iPendant and more options. Robots on R-J3iB are usually the cheapest FANUC robots.

For arc (MIG/MAG and TIG) welding, the ARC Mate 100iB, ARC Mate 120iBe and ARC Mate 120iC are the most popular used choices, with newer ARC Mate 100iD and 120iD robots sourced to order. For spot welding, choose a heavy robot such as the R-2000iB or R-2000iC. See FANUC welding robots.

The R-2000 series is FANUC’s best-selling heavy robot, used in car plants worldwide, and the LR Mate 200iD is its best-selling mini robot. Both are among the most common used FANUC robots, which keeps spare parts easy to find.

The FANUC M-2000iA/2300 is the strongest, lifting up to 2,300 kg, and the M-2000iA/900L reaches up to 4.7 m. The biggest robot we hold in stock is the M-900iA/600, with up to 600 kg payload. We can source larger models to order.

Take the R-2000iB/210F: R-2000 is the series, iB the generation (iA, iB, iC, iD from oldest to newest), 210 the payload in kg and F the standard floor-mounted version. L means a long arm, as in the R-2000iA/125L or M-710iC/20L.

They are programmed with TP (teach pendant) programs, with KAREL for advanced logic and ROBOGUIDE for offline programming and simulation. We offer programming services and training courses.

Yes. The warranty terms depend on the robot and the level of refurbishment, and we confirm them in writing on your quote.

Yes. Reconditioned robots use the same programming and interfaces as new robots, so they can connect to your PLC, safety system, iRVision cameras and conveyors. R-30iA and R-30iB robots support PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and DeviceNet options. We also provide full robot integration.

Yes. Email us the model, payload and reach you need, for example an M-10iA, M-20iB, R-1000iA or M-2000iA. We source used robots regularly, and the finder also shows the closest matches we have in stock.

The same as a new robot: regular inspections, reducer grease changes, robot and controller battery replacement, cable checks and software backups, following FANUC’s maintenance schedule. We supply FANUC spare parts and service support.
